Needle and scissor safety: a household guide

Needles and scissors are sharp. The injuries that happen are almost always preventable.

Storage

Keep a pincushion or magnetic dish at your workstation. Never leave a threaded needle on the sofa, bed, or carpet.

Counting needles

At the start of a session, count your needles. At the end, count them again. A lost needle in the sofa cushion or kitchen floor is a hazard — especially for pets and bare feet.
